21.05.2008 || DB Schenkers „Wikinger-Züge“ versorgen schwedische Autoindustrie
Ab Herbst schickt DB Schenker wöchentlich fünf mit Autoteilen beladene Züge von Kornwestheim und Hannover zum Volvo-Werk im schwedischen Göteborg, fünf weitere Züge verkehren in der Gegenrichtung. Im Vergleich zu den bisherigen Lkw-Transporten auf dieser Strecke werden per Schiene elf Stunden eingespart.

Rodman was one of the first boat builders in the world to adopt Volvo Penta’s IPS system. As early as in January, 2005, the company launched its 41-foot flybridge yacht with IPS. This pioneering spirit has paid off. Sales have grown considerably and today, the company has five models with IPS and has delivered more than 150 boats with the system to customers.

30.08.2007 || Volvo displays carbon-dioxide-free trucks
The Volvo Group is the first vehicle manufacturer to produce seven demonstration trucks that can all be driven without emitting any environmentally harmful carbon dioxide. These trucks were exhibited for the first time today in Stockholm and are equipped with diesel engines that have been modified to operate on seven different types of renewable liquid and gaseous fuels.

Björn Ingemanson, currently the CFO at Volvo Trucks, has been appointed president of International Division. He is succeeding Claes Nilsson, who earlier this summer was appointed to be new head of Europe Division at Volvo Trucks.

Volvo Buses in Norway has secured its largest individual order to date. The bus operator Veolia Transport has ordered 173 Volvo buses that will be deployed in traffic operations in the Stavanger area.

Volvo Trucks North America, part of the Volvo Group, is divesting its entire 28.68-percent ownership in U S truck stop chain Petro Stopping Centers Holding L P to TravelCenters of America and Hospitality Properties Trust.

Total deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group’s three truck companies decreased 17% through April this year, compared with the year-earlier period. Deliveries from Mack were down 54%, while deliveries from Renault Trucks were down 10%. Deliveries from Volvo Trucks decreased 8% compared with the year-earlier period.

18.05.2007 || Volvo sells another seven bi-articulated buses to Göteborg
Following the huge success of the BRT bus routes in Göteborg, the city is now taking a further step by increasing bus capacity. Göteborgs Spårvägar has ordered an additional seven of Sweden’s longest buses, the Volvo 7500 bi-articulated bus with room for 165 passengers.
